The Danbury Collective is a community-led initiative dedicated to ensuring that all families in Danbury have full and equal access to opportunities to be successful in life.  It is a network of 40 community members, organizations, and institutions who are advancing equity by learning together, aligning, and integrating their actions to achieve population outcomes.

tHE cOLLECTIVE’S WORK FOCUSES IN 3 AREAS:

  • Early years lay a foundation for future learning, behavior and growth. Yet today, only 25% of Danbury children enter kindergarten with skills needed to succeed. Our goal is to increase the number of children who are ready for kindergarten.

  • Absenteeism erodes academic and social skills and increases chances of dropping out of school. Today, 16% of Danbury students regularly miss school. Our goal is to reduce absenteeism to pre-pandemic rates.

  • 1 in 5 of US children have a mental, emotional, developmental, or behavioral health disorder. However, mental health issues are treatable and often preventable. Our goal is to raise awareness, identify the most pressing issues, and develop a plan for supporting students and families.
